Val is a friend of Randy's from high school who we spent a great weekend with in Walla Walla back in 2012 for their 20 year reunion. She and her husband were in town for a getaway, and we were so excited to spend some time with them. On Friday we met at 10 Barrel down in NW for some yummy beer and food, and then on Sunday we headed to the coast.
Some people are boycotting 10 Barrel, but I kinda like it.
Saturday was Camille's fifth birthday party, and we wouldn't miss that for anything! Someday I will put together a collage of the kids on all of their birthdays. They are only 10 days apart, and they have celebrated most of their birthdays together.
Tug of war!
Parachute!
Sweet Camille and her Princess Leia cake
Now we have two five year olds!
Later that day we stopped by Tim and Julie's. They had found some baby ducks in their backyard and were taking care of them until they could deliver them to the Audubon Society.
Super cute but super dirty!
Grady LOVED the baby ducks. He could not get enough of them.
Sunday we headed to the Oregon coast for a pub crawl with Val and Marty. We were going to do it downtown, but it was super hot in Portland that weekend. The coast, on the other hand, was chilly and rainy, so we did not spend much time on the actual beach. It was a long day trip, but we had a good time.
First stop was Fort George Brewery in Astoria. We did not enjoy the beer as much as we had hoped, but it was fun to go somewhere new.
Then we walked to Buoy Beer Company in Astoria. This place had better beer, but the food wasn't that great. We should have switched up our itinerary, but who knew?
We only made it to two places and then headed home. We wrapped up the night with Val and Marty hanging out on our deck with some yummy beer and wine. It was a great weekend with good friends!
